A “Neat” App for your Smartphone

runningYour friends run to cure MS or fight global warming and of course you always donate to their worthy causes. But if you’ve ever wished you could exercise for charity without joining an official association, I have some good news: Charity Miles.

This new iPhone and Android app lets you earn cold hard cash
for one of many global nonprofits while you run, walk or bike, all courtesy of a
$1 million purse from corporate sponsors like eBoots, Promax Nutrition and the
United Nations Foundation. (Bikers earn 10 cents a mile, while walkers and
runners earn 25 cents a mile.)

To get started, create an account and choose your preferred method of exercise. Then select from a long list of charities–think Stand Up To Cancer, Feeding America, The Michael J. Fox Foundation and Habitat for Humanity.

Every time you do said activity, the program will track
your miles and donate accordingly to your chosen organization. It will also
track your time, distance and the impact you’ve made, so you can chart your
progress and contributions.

Get fit while fixing the world!!
